General Information

Bareos is a robust and complex backup system composed of three distinct components that work together to create, recover, and verify backups on both Linux and Windows servers. Each component is installed on separate equipment based on its role, ensuring efficient task distribution and resource utilization.

The variety of configuration options available within Bareos provides both complexity and flexibility, allowing the implementation of backup systems tailored to different environments. Thanks to advanced backup techniques and low resource consumption, backups on YottaSrc servers run at least once per day and, in some cases, up to three times per day.

Backup Servers

The servers dedicated to storing backups are specifically designed for this purpose and do not run other applications or services, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Security

• All backups are encrypted to provide a high level of security.
• Physical access to backup servers and other YottaSrc network equipment is strictly limited to accredited YottaSrc staff members.
• Regular maintenance is performed on backup files to enhance functionality. During maintenance, backups may be available for only the last 5-10 days instead of the usual 14-day retention period.

Accessibility

• Shared Hosting Packages (cPanel, WordPress, Telegram Bot, Reseller, etc.)
  • We offer automatic backups daily, weekly, and monthly for all shared hosting packages.
  • Customers can restore data directly from cPanel >> JetBackup.
• VPS & Dedicated Servers
  • Automatic backups are NOT included unless the client subscribes to a backup service or purchases it separately.

Recommendations

Although YottaSrc provides automated backups, we strongly recommend that customers maintain their own copies of files and databases to ensure data security. There is a possibility that a backup may not run correctly or may be incomplete. We cannot guarantee that a backup from a specific date or hour will be available.

To minimize data loss risks, customers should create and store their own backups in the following situations:

• Before leaving for an extended period when the website will not be monitored.
• Prior to making major updates or modifications.
• Periodically, based on the frequency of website changes.
• Store backups on a personal computer or in a secure cloud environment.

Limitations

• Externally made backups are retained for up to 60 days.
• Given the periodic nature of automated backups, retaining multiple copies of the same information is redundant.

Liability

YottaSrc is not liable for:

• Partial or complete loss of backups.
• Missing backups from specific dates.
• Partial or total corruption of backup files.
• Any software or hardware failures affecting the backup process.
• Data inconsistencies between a backup and the original files/databases at a given time.

Customers are responsible for ensuring they always have a copy of their own data.
