To change permissions for files and directories in cPanel, you can follow these steps:
-
Log in to your cPanel account.
-
Navigate to the "File Manager" option in the "Files" section.
-
Find the file or directory that you want to change the permissions for and right-click on it.
-
Select "Change Permissions" from the drop-down menu.
-
In the "Change Permissions" dialog box, you will see a grid of checkboxes that represent the various file permissions (read, write, and execute) for different groups (owner, group, and others).
-
Check or uncheck the relevant boxes to set the permissions as desired.
-
You can also enter the numeric code for the permissions in the "Numeric Value" field if you prefer to use that method.
-
Click on the "Change Permissions" button to save the changes.
Once you have changed the permissions for a file or directory in cPanel, you should see the updated permissions in the "Permissions" column of the File Manager.
