To change permissions for files and directories in cPanel, you can follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.

  2. Navigate to the "File Manager" option in the "Files" section.

  3. Find the file or directory that you want to change the permissions for and right-click on it.

  4. Select "Change Permissions" from the drop-down menu.

  5. In the "Change Permissions" dialog box, you will see a grid of checkboxes that represent the various file permissions (read, write, and execute) for different groups (owner, group, and others).

  6. Check or uncheck the relevant boxes to set the permissions as desired.

  7. You can also enter the numeric code for the permissions in the "Numeric Value" field if you prefer to use that method.

  8. Click on the "Change Permissions" button to save the changes.

Once you have changed the permissions for a file or directory in cPanel, you should see the updated permissions in the "Permissions" column of the File Manager.
